Fee Guide

Dentistry is one of the few NHS services where patients have to pay a contribution to the cost of their care. The cost is dependent on the type of treatment patients need. There are exceptions to this however as some patients are entitled to free NHS dental treatment. Information on NHS dental charges can be found below.

NHS Dental Charges

Patients are able to access NHS dental services at Heswall Dental Practice and your dentist will be able to provide clinically, necessary treatment in order to achieve and maintain good oral health. Unless you meet the criteria for free NHS dental care through an exemption (please see list of exemptions below) you will have to pay a contribution towards the cost of your care. On this page you will find information about NHS dental charges and additional content can be found on: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/dentists/dental-costs/

In England there are three NHS dental treatment charges or bands of treatment (Band 1, Band 2 and Band 3) and the treatment you require will affect your charge. You will only pay one charge to complete a course of treatment. Your dentist may collect this charge in instalments. A course of treatment is complete when a dentist carries out all treatment laid out within your treatment plan.

NHS

Not available on the NHS

Cosmetic dental treatment to improve the appearance of your teeth is not available on the NHS as it is not clinically necessary. Even in circumstances where treatment is clinically necessary your dentist may only offer treatment which is clinically appropriate under the NHS. If you wish to discuss alternative treatment options, please speak to your dentist as they may be able to offer these on a private basis.
